weddings & civil partnership

This is one of the most important events in your life, which you will remember forever, so why compromise on any element of this once in a life time opportunity?  We will create a bespoke and thoughtfully put together ceremony, that will be delivered with tenderness, and feeling, capturing your words and emotions, to truly reflect you both and your love, hopes and dreams for the future.

We can do this is in your chosen location, at your chosen time, with your chosen content. Unlike your local authority registrar we are not bound by licensed locations, set timings, set number of scripts and a restriction on content. Making a ceremony that is unique and reflects you as individuals.

Our ceremonies are created with passion for getting it right and really understanding our couples. As an independent celebrant we are able to include if you so wish religious content, from one or more religions. Your ceremony can also include poems, readings, songs and/or symbolic actions such as planting a tree, unity candles, sand ceremony, stone ceremony and many more. As part of our service we can offer support in finding readings, poems and music content as well as ways to add a special element or ritual to help complete your perfect ceremony.

the legal bit

Two main steps

There are usually 2 steps to getting married or forming a civil partnership in England and Wales.

1. Give notice at your  local registrar office. You each need to pay a £35 fee when you attend the register office to give notice.

2. Have a small ceremony at least 28 days after giving notice.

The ceremony & costs

Exchanging of legal vows

  • You must exchange some formal wording if you’re getting married.
  • You don’t need to exchange vows for a civil partnership, but you can do so if you wish.
  • You’ll need to have at least 2 witnesses at the ceremony.
  • You, your partner and your 2 witnesses must sign the marriage register or civil partnership document.

NB - You do not need to do your personal vows or exchange your rings at this ceremony, you can save that with your celebrant led ceremony with us.

Cost of registering a marriage or civil partnership

  • You have to pay a fee to register a UK marriage or civil partnership - different fees may apply abroad.
  • This is £46 if you have the ceremony at a register office, but may be more at other venues. Ask the registrar or religious minister for details.
